The Notre Dame Symphony Orchestra (NDSO), directed by Daniel Stowe, is an ensemble of 80-90 musicians devoted to performing the orchestral music of the 18th-21st centuries! Membership is open to all members of the Notre Dame and South Bend communities, not just Music majors! For more information on auditions and concert schedules, please see the "Events" page.

The orchestra typically rehearses on Tuesday evenings and presents 3-5 concerts annually in the Marie DeBartolo Center for Performing Arts. NDSO tours every two years; recent tour destinations have included Florida, Poland, Central America, and the Pacific Northwest.

Each year a Concerto Competition for instrumental performers is held in the fall semester, with the winner(s) appearing with the NDSO in concert in the spring.
